Hi everyone,

 

The board of directors of Neighbourhood Watch have agreed to taken on bingos as a fundraising event.  We are all set for Bingos.  There will be several dates available to us in the future but we have two immediate dates available to us.  Sunday, Feb 19 in the afternoon which starts at 11 am and ends around 4 pm and Thursday Feb 27 which starts at 5 pm and ends around 10 pm in the evening.  We need to let the coordinator know before 25 January if we want one of these dates.  In addition, since this will be our first Bingo, we’ll need trained personal in 4 of the positions: Paymaster,  Special Controller,, Club Rep and  Bonanza Controller.  If you have any experience with these positions or would like to help out with any one of the other 9 positions please email Mark at gettoo@telusplanet.net and let him know.

At approximately 8 pm on January 16, 2012 a Pontiac parked on street in the 1600 block of 19 Avenue North was struck by a white vehicle and pushed the Pontiac onto the sidewalk.  Suspect vehicle debris is white in color and appears to be a bumper from a truck.

On Jan. 9, 2012 at approximately 2:20 p.m. two males entered Sears along the 500 block of 1 Avenue South and attempted to steal two drills from the hardware section.  Security pursued the suspects and last saw them running south on 3 Street.  

Both suspects are described as Caucasian males, about 25-30 years old, six feet tall, clean cut with shaved heads and skinny builds. The first suspect was wearing a black hat with red writing, a black coat with blue trim and baggy jeans. The second suspect was wearing a black “Monster Energy” hat, green coat with a hood and jeans.

On Dec 18, 2011, between 1pm and 7:30pm, unknown culprit(s) attempted to break & enter into the residence in the 2900 of 12 Avenue South.

Home owners arrived home to find the front door was still closed & locked. When they opened the door, they found the door jamb (near the dead bolt) split. The striker plate came loose and fell off upon opening the door. The drywall on the inside appears cracked as well. There was no apparent damage to the metal door.  Force was applied to the door, causing the dead bolt to fracture the door frame, but it did not break, no entry was gained.

On Dec 18, 2011, at 11:28pm (TNS time), TNS Alarm Monitoring Company received a bugler motion alarm at 3619 9 Ave North, the commercial building for AWC Communications.

The front glass door had been smashed twice with two large rocks found just inside the doorway. The upper hole allowed the culprit to unlock the door from the inside. The culprit targeted the storage room containing new cell phones. The storage room door was kicked in off its hinges. The culprit took approximately 21 new iPhone 4's (worth $1000 each) and several Black Berry's and other models. Estimated total value is over $30,000.

On January 3, 2012 police attended the parking lot in the 100 block of Mayor Magrath Drive North on a report of a break and enter.  Police were told that the truck owner was parking his truck on the west side of the lot, beside a Scamper trailer, when he saw broken glass on the ground by the trailer.  The owner went to the door of the trailer and was attempting to open the door when an unknown person inside the trailer started to rock the trailer.  The owner backed away from the door and saw a male leaving through the window of the trailer on the east side of the trailer.

On December 31, 2011 at 1130 pm the owners, of a 2005 Maroon Pontiac Montana Van went outside 60 Micmac Bd West, to warm up the vehicle to take the babysitter home.  When they returned a few minutes later, the van was gone.  Five minutes later, police received a call from the area of Ridgewood Cr West when a maroon van collided with a parked vehicle.  Witnesses stated they observed a male flee the WB from the vehicle. K-9 tracked from the vehicle WB and a block away located a wallet belonging to Phillip Stafford.  As the track continued west, police located a male walking along university Drive who was identified.  Police arrested a subject for possession of stolen property and lodged him at LCC.
